The largest European Retail Banking event
- Austria Trend Hotel Savoyen Vienna
- October 10 - 11, 2017
- Date range
- From 1532 USD
This high-profile gathering of 170+ senior executives annually, combine C-level insights on successful banking strategies and hands-on case studies from leading financial institutions. With digital disruption hitting the financial services industry hard, the whole market structure is transforming, and the whole retail banking model is being overhauled.
The region's favourite European conference will be addressing precisely these issues. This year will showcase 40+ speakers (COO mBank Poland; COO Nordea, Director Dsing and Implementation Santander UK and many more ), including a keynote from Chris Gledhill, CEO, Secco Bank UK, top ranked fintech influencer. Choose the program that suits you with scheduled five streams over two days: Big Data & Analytics, Banking Disrupted, The Mobile and Digital Payments Revolution, Open Banking and APIs, and Future Branches. We also invite you to be absorbed in our CEO debate as we reveal the issues Shaping the Future of Retail Banking or regulation debate on how to turn PSD2 into a digital opportunity. Roberto Mancone of Deutsche Bank will look at the triggers driving innovation and modernization, and Gianluca Soma, deputy CEO of Societe Generale France will debate how the various channels will reshape retail banking. You will hear about the hottest topics driving retail banking policy, such as Transforming Traditional Banking to E2E Digital, Responding to the Challenge of FinTechs, Bank Strategy for a New Era, and the Bank in Your Pocket. For those keen on quickfire answers, there will be a fast-fire interview session where the top-voted speakers will answer your burning questions. There will be plenty of opportunity to get a tangible grip on industry movements with more than 30 hands-on presentations, 10+hours of informal discussions, Sli.do electronic polling, group brainstorming and more. Amidst emptying banks, game-changing digitization and regulatory innovation, now more than ever is the time for more radical thinking. 96% of participants recommend the event as the place to understand how to seize the opportunities the dramatic change of playing field presents.
Valuable presentation, case studies and discussion. Very inspiring event!
Great event for networking and to get a lot of insights from colleagues across the industry. Highly recommended
Use gamification to increase interaction between vendors and banks
Last part was fun the wrap-up. Maybe add more activities with participants maybe on different topics. Not every presentation was realyour relevant for me.
Most of the topics are relevant and exciting, however some vendor presentation are dry and boring. Good to be more interactive. Using sli.do is good. I was expecting some documents to be available for download but none was given. Only docs published are agenda and delegates list.
An appointment booking tool is vital. Several delegates said they won't participate in events that don't have one. At LendIt on Monday they used Brella which was great. Without such a tool ,booking meetings was very hard. Delegate quality was good, wifi quality was poor at the venue, food was good.
Valuable presentation and case study as well as a lot of inspiration. Great conference.
Great event thanks Fleming.
Solid event but need a pre arranged meeting section. JJ was an inspirational moderator.
I would have liked to see more countries represented at the event
Some good speakers. Needs more roundtable interactive sessions
Better wifi please
Get participants to interact more between each other
This was very good
Well organised event.
Great first conference. Nice speaker selection
Well organized conference! Worth attending event if you want to keep up on the latest developments in financial services...
Very poor conference with low number of participants.
Reviews from 2016
“I think Vienna is a great venue to have a conference like this. I think conferences are always useful in bringing us together, as we are building a platform with the best products from all around the world; there can be FinTech people, but there can also be traditional banks that offer great products.”Review added by organiser
“It has been a very inspiring day: views from different angles and very open debates; it’s quite interesting to have so many people with different views because we don’t all share the same ideas. I found it quite interesting and inspiring.”Review added by organiser

“It is very interesting because we have seen different players here: we’ve seen FinTechs, banks and regulators, and these are the three main players right now in digital transformation.”Review added by organiser
“I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t know a lot of people, but it has actually been great, the presentations have been great and I think I will definitely come back next year.”Review added by organiser
“I have enjoyed it; it’s a real variety of presentations and good in-depth knowledge from the speakers and certainly good questions in the session I was in.”Review added by organiser
“I saw this event growing over time from being predominantly focused on CEE to being a global event, gathering a lot of people from different parts of the world and covering topics that are of broader interest to.”Review added by organiser
“I think it was great, there were great questions, I thought sli.do was very good – it was the first time I was exposed to that, so having people asking questions through the app as well as raising their hand was a very good mix.”Review added by organiser
few attendees, limited opportunities for networking, shame floorplan
Wonderfull Event Thank you Matej Matecek and your team. Farshad Nowshadi
It is worth attending. Most speakers were very good. The only problem was there were too many sponsors so it was difficult getting attention from prospects.
A bit less time to network. Evening event would be good next time to do more networking.
Overall great insights, though some speakers were not on the right forum I guess ;)
Very nice event.
Definitely worth. Some good takeaways.
Relevant mix of banking and fintech people.
Space was too warm Should have used the screen in the keynote panels and have them in the center of the room.
It is only if you have dedicated meetings with the deligate
It was a good agenda, and most of the speakers were excellent, but as a sponsor, it will be difficult to cost justify sponsorship next year as booth traffic, the opportunity to meet with people, and the actionable leads were extremelty limited. Speaking with other vendors, they shared the same experience. Perhaps unfairly, I rated the even organisation as a "2", but that reflects the inability of the organizer to have the audience engage with the sponsors and exhibitors. I also rated the venue as a 2. In talking with the other sponsors there was a feeling that the space was too small, and there was the natural tendency to collect your coffee, food, or whatever and then leave to find additional space. My impresson was that the bankers were here only to get new ideas and leave. T
- floor plan of the location was inadequate for a communicative climate as most of the vendors were located in a separate room. - The announced C-Level of the financial institutions didn't show up, the attending level of staff was not the right addressees for discussions on new digital banking strategies - Peer-2-peer discussions would have been fruitful to get to know the vision of our clients in greater depth - 2 events on the same floor with "shared food" was a not ideal in the first place (2nd day)
Overall a very good forum for senior banking executives. Venue leaves a bit to be desired.
wonderfull event. well done fleming.
Generally good - would be nice to have videos/photos of presentations to share on return. Some of the sponsor presentations could do with some vetting beforehand to get a better balance of sales/information.
I am not sure to attend next year. There was too many vendors and consultants, not so many banks (and if so, not on the B level). I would expect much more of the leading european retail banks (such as from UK, Germany, Benelux, ...) to participate. The content was driven by "sustainable" innovations, not so much by "disruptive" ones. As a result, I did not learn too many new insights, except reconfirmation of the fact that retail banks remain confident and believe to survive (somehow), while they are (in general) not ready and able to really respond to major challenges.
1) Organization and atmosphere were excellent. 2) My opinion, too many good presentation but on very high level, i.e. outcome of most most presentations came just with general statements. If we have several stream for presentations, we should benefit from it, i.e. we should pick-up most important / interesting topics and discuss it in details. For example there was one statement: "now the trend is not so fast but with PSD2 the situation will change and will speed up." There were no answers on how the situation will change? How the situation will speed up? What will be the impact on Business? What will be the positive / negative impact on banks? What will be the positive / negative impact on FinTech? Who will benefit? Who will lose? How to prepare ourselves? And so many other questions r

“Overall I thought the event was great. The digital facilities and audience interaction on sms and real time voting took it to a level above many other conferences. The quality of the speakers was excellent and the variety was also good. The best event I attended in 2013 was yours.”Review added by organiser
“I participate in a number of events each year both in the States and overseas, and I will recommend your events to anyone wanting to attend a well-constructed conference that brings in the best in the industry.Review added by organiser
“It`s really a unique experience and a unique event in Europe, and we have found people who are really interested in our banks evolution; who see the future in the role digital will play on the web, so it's definitely an event worth attending. It's my second time here but definitely not the last because it's a really important instrument to help understand what's going on.”Review added by organiser
